Support St John’s Church

St John’s Church is an exceptional Grade 2* listed building.  We are a registered charity and in outlook we are truly ecumenical. Each Sunday we welcome for worship three independent local church communities.

Rental income from our church hall and church concerts as well as donations from visitors enables us to ensure that our buildings are well maintained and stay open for the benefit of everyone in the community and for visitors to Ashbourne. Accordingly, in 2020, we spent £28,000 on painting and renovation of the church interior. Members of Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust have advised on further maintenance work required in and around the church.

If you are able, please donate today to help St John’s carry out repairs and maintenance to windows and stonework and to install modern heating and access facilities.

Thank you for your support.

Volunteer with St John’s

We are looking for volunteers to help us manage our buildings, our services and our relationships with local voluntary groups. We have no paid staff in St John’s, nevertheless we need to ensure that our grounds and buildings are well maintained, our hall and church bookings are well managed and our local community knows that we exists to support in whatever way we can. We also need to plan an exciting future for St John’s. We understand that your time is precious and you may not have a great deal of time to volunteer.

Why volunteer with St John’s church?

  • To give something back
  • To make new friends
  • To make a difference
  • To use existing skills
  • To learn a new skill
  • To appreciate a building
  • Christian Service
